Mariacristina D'Oria, architect and Ph.D. (Doctor Europaeus, University of Trieste, Italy, ETSAM, Madrid).
Her aspiration to intertwine design practice and theoretical research led her to explore, first, with her master's thesis Expost: the recycling of the event, the recycling event (2015, published by Libria in 2021), then with her doctoral Thesis Mean Time. Expiring architecture, the relationship between architecture and transition, investigating, in particular, the postures the discipline has deployed to deal with trauma, reconstructing a trans-disciplinary field of temporal overlaps and complex cartographies.
She presents her work at international conferences (Ljubljana 2021, Delft 2022 and Bath 2023) and dynamically experiments with the exhibition medium (Scenes in America Deserta 2019, Apocalipsis cum figuris 2020, Geometries of Time 2021, Time- capsule Transcrypts 2022), working at the intersection of architecture, landscape and urban practices. She is a research fellow at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (UPM) where, within the research group NuTAC (Nuevas Técnicas Arquitectura Ciudad), she works on the theme of the Iberoamerican social housing, focusing in particular on the multi-scalar relationships existing between architecture and the city. She is currently part of the Editorial Committee of the series Masterplan. Mariacristina D'Oria, arquitecta y doctora (Doctor Europaeus, Universidad de Trieste, Italia, ETSAM, Madrid).
Su aspiración a entrelazar la práctica del diseño y la investigación teórica la llevó a explorar, primero con su tesis de máster Expost: el reciclaje del evento, el evento del reciclaje, (2015, publicada por Libria en 2021), y después con su tesis doctoral Mean Time. Expiring architecture, la relación entre arquitectura y transición, investigando en particular las posturas que la disciplina ha desplegado para hacer frente al trauma, reconstruyendo un campo trans-disciplinar de solapamientos temporales y cartografías complejas.
Presenta su trabajo en conferencias internacionales (Liubliana 2021, Delft 2022 y Bath 2023) y experimenta dinámicamente con el medio expositivo (Scenes in America Deserta 2019, Apocalipsis cum figuris 2020, Geometries of Time 2021, Time- capsule Transcrypts 2022), trabajando en la intersección de la arquitectura, el paisaje y las prácticas urbanas. Es becaria de investigación en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (UPM), donde donde dentro del grupo de investigación NuTAC (Nuevas Técnicas Arquitectura Ciudad), trabaja sobre el tema de la vivienda social Iberoamericana, centrándose, en particular, en las relaciones multi-escalares existentes entre la arquitectura y la ciudad.

L’aspirazione a intrecciare pratica progettuale e ricerca teorica la porta a esplorare, prima con la tesi magistrale Expost: il riciclo dell’evento, l’evento del riciclo, (2015, pubblicato da Libria nel 2021), poi con la tesi dottorale Mean Time. Expiring architecture, la relazione tra architettura e transizione, investigando in particolare le posture che la disciplina ha schierato per affrontare il trauma, ricostruendo un campo trans-disciplinare di sovrapposizioni temporali e cartografie complesse.s.
Presenta il suo lavoro a conferenze internazionali (Lubiana 2021, Delft 2022 e Bath 2023) e sperimenta dinamicamente con il medium espositivo (Scenes in America Deserta 2019, Apocalipsis cum figuris 2020, Geometries of Time 2021, Time- capsule Transcrypts 2022), lavorando all’intersezione tra architettura, paesaggio e pratiche urbane. È assegnista presso la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (UPM) dove, all'interno del gruppo di ricerca NuTAC (Nuevas Técnicas Arquitectura Ciudad) lavora sul tema della vivienda social Iberoamericana, concentrandosi, in particolare, sulle relazioni multi-scalari esistenti tra architettura e città.
Attualmente è parte del comitato editoriale della collana Masterplan. Quaderni di progettazione architettonica e urbana e del comitato scientifico del I Congreso Iberoamericano de vivienda social sostenible Repensar la casa. Transformar la ciudad.
